I know the slow-paced, Midwestern life here in South Dakota can get old after a while. The drive to work displays the same fields with row, after row of corn and beans, and let's be honest, getting stuck behind a tractor when you are on the home stretch may not feel ideal.

Until...

The glowing sun rays, from the South Dakota sun rise, beams off of that field you pass every day, in the most magnificent way, that makes you realize that field is filled with more than just dirt, it is filled with produce that is going to nourish thousands of people and animals.

You finally pull around that tractor, and the farmer turns and gives you the biggest smile and wave - that makes you realize the farmer is dedicated to providing for their community, and they do so happily.

October 12th marks a day for us to celebrate everything farmers do for us here in Sioux Falls, but also across our state, and country!

"When I do kolaches and cinnamon rolls. I’m always looking for the dough to pull away from the sides of the bowl when kneading in the kitchen aid. This tells me that the dough has enough flour. I knead for a few more minutes and allow the dough to rest and raise. I always cover the bowl with Saran Wrap. Place in a warm area and allow to proof."

Tidal tales

Hiya friends. It's Tidal! Halloween season is here and I am excited! SO excited because I'll have lots of candy to fill my stomach. I'll also watch a classic Halloween movie while I chomp on the candy. What's your fav Halloween movie? Mine's probably scream. Maybe I'll create a classic someday :)

Today, I have a date you should save. It's an event that I'll enjoy and I'm sure you will enjoy it as well. "What's the event?" you ask.

The event takes place on the 25th of October with the Miller Team! They are having their 6th annual Trunk or Treat at Hegg Realtors' Parking Lot.

What does this mean for you, and I? ​
Well, it means you can stop by, meet with awesome peoples, and your kiddos can grab so much candy and some swag bags. I'll be grabbing as much candy as I possibly can and rushing home to eat them.

OH - The thought of stuffing myself with some candy right now...
